Easy and Delicious Radish Stir-Fry Recipe: Perfect for Kids’ Lunch Boxes!
Let’s make a tender and sweet radish stir-fry using seasonal radishes. You can create a wonderful side dish with simple ingredients. It’s truly a rice-lover’s dream!
Main Ingredients- 1/2 Korean radish (Mu)
- 1 handful green onions, chopped
- 1 handful carrots, thinly julienned
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Today, we’ll be making a delicious stir-fried radish dish using the best of the season. It will be a beautiful and tasty side dish for your table.
Step 2
Instead of using a mandoline, cut the radish into thick strips, about 0.5cm wide. Cutting them thickly like this helps maintain a pleasant texture and prevents them from becoming too mushy when stir-fried. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a frying pan over medium heat and stir-fry the thickly cut radish until it becomes fragrant and slightly sweet. It’s important to stir-fry thoroughly to bring out the radish’s natural sweetness.
Step 3
Once the radish starts to look slightly translucent, add 100ml of broth or water and continue to stir-fry gently over medium-low heat. When the liquid has reduced slightly, cover the pan and let it steam for about 5-7 minutes. This steaming process will make the radish wonderfully tender and moist.
Step 4
Remove the lid and season with 1 tsp soup soy sauce, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1 tsp minced garlic. Add the julienned carrots and chopped green onions. Stir gently for another 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are well combined. Lightly cook the carrots to retain their vibrant color.
Step 5
Finally, sprinkle in 1 tsp of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty aroma, and turn off the heat. Your delicious seasonal radish stir-fry is now complete! It’s perfect served over warm rice or as a side dish for your bento box.
