  • 2 Tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 7 Tbsp Breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crispiness)
  • 1 Egg

Start by preparing your 10 string cheese sticks. Unwrap them if they are individually packaged.

In another shallow dish, spread out 7 tablespoons of breadcrumbs. Panko breadcrumbs will give you a wonderfully crispier texture.

Crack 1 egg into a small bowl. Whisk it thoroughly with a fork or a small whisk until it’s well beaten, creating an egg wash.

Now, let’s coat the cheese sticks. Take one string cheese stick and first dredge it evenly in the flour. Make sure it’s fully coated, then gently shake off any excess flour.

Next, dip the flour-coated cheese stick into the beaten egg wash, ensuring it’s completely covered. Let any excess drip off.

Finally, roll the egg-washed cheese stick generously in the breadcrumbs. Press gently with your hands to help the breadcrumbs adhere well. This step is crucial for a crispy coating. Repeat this entire coating process (flour, egg, breadcrumbs) for all 10 string cheese sticks.

Pour enough cooking oil into a frying pan to generously cover the bottom and heat it over medium heat. To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a pinch of breadcrumbs into it. If they sizzle and float to the surface immediately, the oil is ready for frying.
