Spicy and Refreshing Seafood Curry Nabe
Make Seafood Curry Nabe with Baek Jong-won’s Dry Curry – Just Like the Original Recipe!
We made Baek Jong-won’s dry curry to prepare a hearty weekday meal for busy working couples! As we both love drinks, the first thing we made with the dry curry was this Seafood Curry Nabe, a perfect appetizer! For instructions on how to make dry curry, please refer to @6905670.
Main Ingredients- 2 octopus (e.g., small octopus)
- 10 shrimp
- 3 abalone
- 1/4 large leek
- 3 Korean green chili peppers, thinly sliced diagonally
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thaw the frozen seafood (octopus, shrimp, abalone) by soaking them in cold water. This helps preserve their freshness and ensures a tender texture.
Step 2
Wash the large leek thoroughly under running water, then thinly slice it diagonally. This will add a refreshing flavor and aroma to the nabe.
Step 3
Pour 3 cups (approximately 540ml) of water into a pot of suitable size. You can adjust the amount of broth according to your preference.
Step 4
Now, add the thawed octopus, shrimp, abalone, and the sliced leek to the pot. Cover with a lid and simmer over medium heat until the seafood is fully cooked and a flavorful broth has developed (about 10-15 minutes).
Step 5
Once the seafood is partially cooked, add the diagonally sliced Korean green chili peppers for a bit of heat. Feel free to add more if you enjoy spicier food.
Step 6
Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic for a fragrant boost and 1 Tbsp of cooking wine to enhance the seafood’s flavor and remove any fishy smell.
Step 7
After confirming that all the seafood is completely cooked, add 4 Tbsp of Baek Jong-won’s dry curry. Stir well to dissolve any clumps and ensure the curry is evenly distributed throughout the broth. (For the best results, refer to the @6905670 recipe for making dry curry.)
Step 8
Once the curry has blended into the broth, let it simmer for a little longer. When the broth thickens slightly and the curry flavor melds beautifully with the seafood, your delicious Seafood Curry Nabe is ready! Transfer to individual earthenware pots for serving and enjoy it warm.
