Roll Cake Batter Ingredients- Muffin mix 200g
- 1 Egg
- 30g Water (approx. 2 Tbsp)
- 40g Vegetable oil (approx. 3 Tbsp)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, combine 200g of muffin mix, 1 egg, 30g of water, and 40g of vegetable oil. Mix well. For an extra burst of peach flavor, you can also blend or finely chop 1 cup of the canned peaches and add them to the batter.
Step 2
Line an oven pan with parchment paper. Spread the batter thinly and evenly across the pan. Ensure the batter is spread thinly; a thick batter will take longer to bake and may not cook through.
Step 3
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes. Rotate the pan and bake for an additional 5 minutes to ensure even browning. To check for doneness, insert a skewer; it should come out clean.
Step 4
While the cake sheet is baking, cut the remaining 1 cup of canned peaches into bite-sized pieces. Prepare your custard cream or whipped cream to spread. Using pre-whipped cream from the store will make the process even easier.
Step 5
Once the cake sheet is baked, let it cool down for a bit. It’s important to let it cool to a warm temperature (comfortable to touch) before spreading the cream, otherwise the cream might melt.
Step 6
Spread a thin, even layer of the prepared custard cream or whipped cream over the cooled cake sheet. Be careful not to apply too much, as it can squeeze out when rolling.
Step 7
Arrange the cut peach pieces evenly over the cream. The sweetness of the peaches will beautifully complement the cream, enhancing the overall flavor of the roll cake.
Step 8
Now it’s time to roll! Gently lift the parchment paper at one end and carefully roll the cake sheet tightly, similar to rolling a sushi roll. Rolling it along with the parchment paper helps prevent the cake from breaking and shapes it nicely.
Step 9
Once rolled, keep the cake wrapped in the parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Chilling the roll cake thoroughly will help it hold its shape when sliced.
Step 10
Slice the chilled roll cake into desired portions. Enjoy your incredibly moist peach roll cake with its thin cake layers, sweet peaches, and smooth cream – a perfect treat for kids or a delightful dessert for any occasion!
