Savory Stir-Fried Green Onion and Gim (Seaweed)
Easy Side Dish: How to Make Green Onion and Gim Stir-Fry, Great for Leftover Scallions
Let’s make a truly delicious side dish: a Gim and Green Onion seasoned salad.
Main Ingredients- 5 sheets of Gim (seaweed)
- 1 handful of green onions (about 10-15 stalks)
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Today, we’re going to make a fantastic side dish that’s perfect with rice: a Gim and Green Onion seasoned salad. It’s simple yet incredibly delicious.
Step 2
First, lightly toast the Gim sheets in a dry pan over low heat until they are fragrant and slightly crisp. This makes them easier to crumble. Once toasted, place the Gim in a plastic bag and crumble it into bite-sized pieces using your hands or a rolling pin. Don’t crush it too finely; a little texture is nice.
Step 3
Now, let’s prepare the seasoning. In a bowl, mix 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oligosaccharide, and 1 tsp sesame oil until well combined. Wash and thoroughly dry the green onions, then finely chop them and add them to the seasoning. Add the crumbled Gim to the bowl as well. Gently toss everything together with your hands until the Gim and green onions are well coated. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can make the Gim mushy.
Step 4
Finally, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top for an extra nutty aroma and flavor. This finished Gim and Green Onion salad is a side dish so good, you won’t be able to stop reaching for more! It’s an excellent addition to lunchboxes or as a staple side for any meal.
