Main Ingredients

  • 100ml Jungshikdang Soy Milk (Plain or Black Soy Bean variety)
  • 100ml Heavy Cream
  • 1 handful Small Shrimp (thawed)
  • 3 stalks Broccoli
  • 1 slice Processed Cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the 3 stalks of broccoli thoroughly and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Preparing all your ingredients beforehand will save you time. This way, you can easily use what you need in the morning when you’re in a rush.

Step 1

Step 2

The special ingredient in this soup is ‘Jungshikdang Soy Milk’ instead of regular milk. Soy milk is an excellent choice for breakfast because it’s easily digestible and won’t cause the lactose intolerance discomfort that dairy milk sometimes does. You can use either the plain soy milk or the black soy bean variety for a richer flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, it’s time to add the ingredients to your rice cooker. Start by adding the small broccoli florets and 1 teaspoon of butter, which will add a lovely richness to the soup.

Step 3

Step 4

Next, add the thawed small shrimp, 1 tablespoon of minced onion for a touch of sweetness, and 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic for a fragrant aroma.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, for the creamy base: pour in 100ml of heavy cream and 100ml of Jungshikdang Soy Milk. Season with 2 pinches of salt to enhance all the flavors.

Step 5

Step 6

Stir all the ingredients together in the rice cooker with a spatula until well combined. This ensures even cooking and flavor distribution. Top with 1 slice of processed cheese and a sprinkle of black pepper. Select the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Warm’ function on your rice cooker and set it for 9 minutes.

Step 6

Step 7

Once the 9 minutes of reheating are complete, your soup should be warm and ready. If your ingredients were very cold or the soup isn’t quite hot enough, feel free to run the ‘Reheat’ function for another cycle. A piping hot soup is best enjoyed!

Step 7

Step 8

Carefully ladle the finished creamy soy milk soup into a serving bowl. The processed cheese will have melted beautifully, adding to the soup’s rich texture. Stir gently before enjoying. This hearty and healthy soup is perfect for a satisfying breakfast.
