Character Curry Rice
Golden Recipe for Fun Character Curry Rice
Let’s make a fun and delicious curry rice featuring cute characters!
Ingredients- Curry powder for 2 servings
- 1/2 carrot, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 200g pork, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 3 tsp cooking oil
- 500ml water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Upon seeing the finished curry rice, you might react with ‘It’s too cute to eat!’ or ‘Is it a little cruel to eat curry on this?’ These are realistic reactions, reminiscent of childhood memories.
Step 2
Today, we’re making this dish using ingredients we have on hand (‘Naengpa’ – clearing out the fridge), and adding shiitake mushrooms for an extra textural element.
Step 3
Pour in the measured water (500ml). You can dissolve the curry powder separately in a little water before adding it to the pot, or simply pour it directly into the pot and stir to dissolve. Modern curry powders dissolve easily in cold water, so just stir well to prevent clumps.
Step 4
Once the curry begins to boil, stir gently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom as the ingredients cook. When it’s almost done, start preparing the character rice. Divide the warm rice into two portions and shape them into a snowman.
Step 5
Add eyebrows to your snowman rice! The warm rice will help them stick. You might find yourself giggling while making it – it’s so adorable! Even small efforts like this can lift your spirits.
Step 6
Finally, ladle the delicious, cooked curry over the character rice. The bowl shape, somewhat resembling a bathtub, makes it look like the character is enjoying a bath in the curry! Enjoy your delightful meal.
