Delicious Homemade Pasta for the Whole Family

Shrimp Tomato Pasta using Fontana Chunky Tomato Sauce

Delicious Homemade Pasta for the Whole Family

Fontana Chunky Tomato Sauce has a rich, deep onion flavor that complements the tomatoes without being overly tart, making it a hit even with children who are usually picky about tomato sauces. We’ve also added finely chopped fresh shrimp for a delightful seafood aroma. (You can skip the shrimp if it’s unavailable!)

  • Category : Noodles & Dumplings
  • Ingredient Category : Flour / Wheat
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 3 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • Fontana Chunky Tomato Sauce 400g
  • Pasta of your choice, desired amount
  • Onion 3 Tbsp, finely diced
  • Bell Pepper 3 Tbsp, finely diced
  • Fresh Shrimp 5 pcs, peeled and finely chopped

Seasonings & Others

  • Minced Garlic 1 Tbsp (sliced garlic is also great for aroma)
  • Olive Oil 3 Tbsp
  • Parsley Flakes, a pinch (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

We’re using about 400g of Fontana Chunky Tomato Sauce for this recipe. (We had some leftover from making tortilla pizzas.) Feel free to use your favorite type and amount of pasta. (For reference, filling the pot about three times to the thickness of a coin usually yields about 3 servings.)

Step 1

Step 2

Dice the onion and bell pepper into small, bite-sized pieces, suitable for children. Peel and finely chop the fresh shrimp. (If you don’t have shrimp, you can skip this step.)

Step 2

Step 3

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 2 teaspoons of salt. Add the pasta to the salted boiling water and cook.

Step 3

Step 4

Cooking time depends on the pasta type and your desired texture. For a chewy al dente texture, cook for about 8 minutes. For a softer texture, cook for about 10 minutes. Since we’re cooking for kids, aiming for a 10-minute cook time will result in a wonderfully tender pasta.

Step 4

Step 5

A simple test to see if your pasta is done: toss a strand onto a plate. If it slides off instead of sticking, it’s perfectly cooked. Drain the pasta in a colander, then toss it with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a bowl to prevent the strands from sticking together.

Step 5

Step 6

Now, let’s make the sauce! Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a deep pan or wok over medium heat. First, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Then, add the diced onion, bell pepper, and chopped shrimp, cooking them in that order. (Using sliced garlic can enhance the aroma and flavor.)

Step 6

Step 7

Once the shrimp turn a vibrant pink and are almost cooked through, pour in the Fontana Tomato Sauce. Stir to combine the sauce with the sautéed ingredients.

Step 7

Step 8

After adding the sauce, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and gently toss it with the sauce. Stir and cook for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat and meld with the pasta, infusing it with flavor.

Step 8

Step 9

Voila! Your delicious pasta is ready. Serve it beautifully in a dish and enjoy this wonderful meal. We hope you have a fantastic dining experience with your family!
