Ingredients

  • 1/2 medium watermelon
  • 250ml sparkling cider (like Sprite or clear soda)
  • 1 ripe peach
  • 1/2 apple
  • 5 ice cubes

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your fruits. The star ingredient is watermelon, but feel free to add other fruits like grapes, kiwi, or pear to make it your own. Ensure all fruits are thoroughly washed.

Step 1

Step 2

Cut the watermelon into thick, 1cm slices. Then, use fun cookie cutters (stars, hearts, etc.) to create attractive shapes. The remaining watermelon pieces can be set aside to be blended later if desired.

Step 2

Step 3

Peel the peach if you prefer, then cut it into bite-sized pieces. Aim for pieces that are easy to eat in one go, ensuring a pleasant texture.

Step 3

Step 4

Cut the apple into bite-sized pieces, similar to the peach. You can leave the skin on for extra color and nutrients. To prevent browning, you can briefly soak the cut apples in lightly sweetened water before adding them to the punch.

Step 4

Step 5

To make the punch smoother and less fizzy, gently release some of the carbonation from the cider. Carefully tap the top of the unopened cider bottle with a spoon a few times. This helps to quickly dissipate the bubbles, resulting in a milder, more pleasant taste for your punch.

Step 5

Step 6

In a large bowl, combine all the prepared fruits. Pour the de-carbonated sparkling cider over the fruit, ensuring it’s mostly submerged. For an even creamier texture, you can add a splash of milk or condensed milk, though this is optional and best enjoyed immediately if used.

Step 6

Step 7

Add about 5 ice cubes to the punch. While ice keeps it cool, too much can dilute the flavor over time. It’s best to add a moderate amount initially and add more just before serving if desired.

Step 7

Step 8

Your refreshing fruit punch, featuring delicious watermelon, is now ready! The vibrant colors and cool, sweet flavor make it a perfect summer treat. It’s incredibly easy to make, so try this recipe and enjoy the delightful taste of summer.
