  • 1 stalk fresh scallion
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 50g minced beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully check and prepare all the ingredients for your fried rice. Wash and thoroughly dry 1 stalk of scallion, then finely chop it. Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, and sauté the chopped scallions until fragrant. Sautéing over medium-low heat will bring out the natural sweetness of the scallions without burning them.

Once the scallions become translucent and slightly softened, add 50g of minced beef and stir-fry them together. Break up any clumps of beef with your spatula as you cook, ensuring it browns evenly. Continue to cook until the beef is no longer pink and becomes fluffy.

When the beef is about halfway cooked, push the ingredients to one side of the frying pan to create an empty space. Crack 1 egg into the empty space and quickly scramble it using chopsticks or a spatula until it’s softly cooked. Be careful not to overcook the egg; remove it from heat while it’s still moist.

Once the scrambled egg is ready, mix it with the sautéed beef and scallions. Now, add 1 serving (200g) of warm cooked rice to the frying pan. Stir and fry, mixing all the ingredients and rice together. It’s important to break up the rice grains so they are distinct and not clumpy.

Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the side of the pan to enhance the flavor of the fried rice. Letting the soy sauce lightly caramelize in the hot pan will deepen its aroma.

Next, add 0.5 tablespoon of oyster sauce to further enrich the flavor. Oyster sauce adds a deep, savory taste that soy sauce alone cannot provide. Feel free to adjust the amount to your preference.

Now, stir-fry quickly with your spatula to ensure the soy sauce and oyster sauce are evenly distributed throughout the rice and ingredients. Once all the seasonings are well combined and the rice is fluffy, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds on top for a nutty finish.
