Main Ingredients- 3 fresh eggs
- 1 handful of blanched spinach (squeeze out excess water thoroughly)
- 1/2 handful of fresh chives (finely chopped)
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 tsp salted shrimp (minced finely)
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 pinch of salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp salted shrimp (minced finely)
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 pinch of salt (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a clean bowl, crack 3 fresh eggs and whisk them well. Squeeze out the excess water from the blanched spinach, then finely chop it along with the chives and add them to the egg mixture. Stir until everything is evenly combined. Ensure the vegetables are well dispersed in the egg batter.
Step 2
Add the seasoning ingredients to taste. First, add 1 teaspoon of finely minced salted shrimp. Then, add 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil, and a pinch of salt. Salted shrimp can be quite salty, so it’s best to taste and adjust as needed. Whisk again to ensure all ingredients are well mixed.
Step 3
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Add a little cooking oil or butter (optional) and spread it evenly. Pour the spinach and chive egg mixture into the pan, tilting it to ensure the egg forms a thin, even layer. It will start to cook around the edges.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low. Once the bottom layer of the egg starts to set, begin to gently roll it up from one side. Push the cooked portion to one side and allow the uncooked egg mixture to flow into the empty space as it cooks. Repeat this process, rolling the omelet section by section, to create a thicker roll.
Step 5
Continue to gently turn the rolled omelet over the heat, ensuring all sides are cooked to a nice golden brown. As it cooks to a beautiful color, you’ll see the spinach and chive rolled omelet taking shape, looking very appetizing.
Step 6
Your nutritious spinach and chive rolled omelet is now complete! It’s delicious served hot, but letting it cool slightly will help it hold its shape better.
Step 7
Once slightly cooled, slice the rolled omelet into bite-sized pieces, perfect for your child. Cutting them not too thick will make them easy for little ones to eat and look more appealing. Slice them on a cutting board into convenient portions.
Step 8
The green spinach and chives mixed in create a lovely, colorful appearance, don’t they? The vibrant colors are sure to capture your child’s attention.
Step 9
Arrange the deliciously sliced rolled omelet on a plate. It’s a flavorful spinach and chive rolled omelet that might even remind you of perilla leaves! This is a perfect side dish for your child’s meal.
