Ingredients- 2 stalks of green onions (mostly white parts)
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s make the dressing for the scallion salad. In a large bowl, combine 2 Tbsp of vinegar, 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 3 Tbsp of red pepper flakes, and 2 Tbsp of sugar. Add 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty flavor and 2 Tbsp of fragrant sesame oil. Mix everything thoroughly with a spoon until the dressing is well combined. Ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Step 2
Now it’s time to prepare the main ingredient, the green onions. Wash the green onions thoroughly and prepare them, focusing on the white parts. Slicing them thinly will help them absorb the dressing well and provide a pleasant texture. Using a scallion cutter will allow you to slice them even thinner and more uniformly, which is very convenient. If you don’t have a scallion cutter, slice them as thinly as possible with a knife.
Step 3
Add the prepared scallions to the bowl with the dressing and gently toss to combine, creating your delicious scallion salad! Avoid over-mixing, as this can make the scallions mushy. Gently coat the scallions with the dressing, aiming to keep them crisp. This crispiness is key! You can enjoy the scallion salad immediately, or chill it in the refrigerator for a short while for an even cooler and more refreshing taste.
