Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully check and prepare all the ingredients needed for today’s delicious smoky duck bulgogi. Fresh ingredients are the foundation of a great dish!
Step 2
Take the 600g of pre-cooked smoked duck, readily available in the market, and place it into a large bowl, cut into bite-sized pieces if necessary. The smoky aroma is already making your mouth water!
Step 3
Thinly slice the onion and cut the green onion into diagonal pieces (about 1-inch lengths). Add these vegetables to the bowl with the smoked duck. The sweetness of the onion and the fragrant aroma of the green onion will enhance the flavor of the bulgogi.
Step 4
Now it’s time to make the key element – the spicy and sweet sauce! In a separate bowl, combine 1.5 Tbsp gochujang, 3 Tbsp gochugaru, 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 3 Tbsp mirin, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1.5 Tbsp sugar, 2 Tbsp oligodang, and 1 Tbsp sesame oil. We’ve created the perfect flavor balance!
Step 5
Using a spoon or spatula, gently mix the sauce ingredients together until they are well combined and form a smooth paste. It’s important to mix until the sauce is lump-free and has a uniform consistency.
Step 6
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add all the ingredients from the bowl – the smoked duck, vegetables, and the prepared sauce – into the pan. Stir-fry for about 10 minutes, or until the duck is nicely browned and the sauce has coated everything evenly. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Step 7
Towards the end of cooking, taste the bulgogi and adjust the seasoning if needed. Once you’re happy with the flavor, sprinkle 1 Tbsp of sesame seeds over the top for an extra nutty aroma and taste. This is the final touch!
Step 8
Transfer the perfectly stir-fried smoky duck bulgogi onto a serving plate. Your mouth-watering dish is now ready to be enjoyed! It’s also incredibly delicious served over a bowl of warm rice.
