Main Ingredients- 140g thawed and peeled shrimp
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Korean green chili or red chili)
- 3 cherry tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic
Seasoning & Spices- Herbal salt, to taste
- Chili sauce, to taste
- Herbal salt, to taste
- Chili sauce, to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently rinse the thawed shrimp under running water and pat them dry to remove excess moisture. Heat a pan, then add the shrimp to begin stir-frying. It’s important to first drive off the shrimp’s moisture before adding oil, as adding oil to a wet pan can cause dangerous splattering. Stir-fry the shrimp until most of their water has evaporated.
Step 2
Once the shrimp have released most of their moisture, add a little cooking oil to the pan. Then, add the thinly sliced garlic, the cherry tomatoes cut in half, and the chili pepper sliced diagonally. Stir-fry everything together over high heat to preserve the fresh texture and flavor of the vegetables. Cooking on high heat prevents the vegetables from becoming mushy and maintains their crispness.
Step 3
When the ingredients are somewhat stir-fried, sprinkle herbal salt evenly over the shrimp and vegetables for seasoning. Stir-fry the shrimp, flipping them front and back, until they turn pink and are cooked through. Finally, just before turning off the heat, drizzle in a little sesame oil for added nutty flavor to complete the dish. Adding sesame oil after turning off the heat helps preserve its aroma.
