Spinach Shrimp Cream Pasta
Creamy Spinach Shrimp Pasta: A Deliciously Rich Combination of Spinach and Cream Sauce! Enhanced with Shrimp for Added Nutrition and Flavor!
Today, I made a creamy pasta using shrimp from my freezer and fresh spinach. I often make creamy pasta because I love its rich, savory flavor. However, making a proper cream sauce can sometimes feel like it requires a lot of ingredients and effort. So, for this recipe, I used a store-bought cream pasta sauce for a quick and easy meal. With a trusted cream sauce base, all you need to do is prepare the other ingredients and whip up a delicious pasta in no time!
Ingredients- 1 bunch fresh spinach (about 100g)
- 7 shrimp
- 1/2 onion
- 2 portions pasta (about 150-200g)
- 4 pinches salt
- 2 pinches black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 cup store-bought cream pasta sauce (about 200-250ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one bunch of fresh spinach by washing it thoroughly. Peel and thinly slice half an onion. The sliced onion will be sautéed with the shrimp later to enhance the flavor.
Step 2
Thaw 7 frozen shrimp by soaking them in water, then rinse them under running water until clean. Washing them carefully removes any impurities, and patting them dry with paper towels will prevent oil splattering when sautéing and ensure a better cooking result.
Step 3
In a large pot of boiling water, add two portions of pasta and cook. It’s useful to reserve some of the pasta water, as it can help adjust the sauce consistency and seasoning later. The cooking time for the pasta can be adjusted to your preference; I prefer it well-cooked, so I boiled it for 12 minutes. If you like a chewier texture, refer to the package instructions.
Step 4
Heat a little oil in a deep pan over low heat. Add 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Once the garlic aroma is released, add the prepared shrimp and cook over medium heat. When the shrimp begins to turn pink and cook, add the sliced onions and sauté them together until they become translucent.
Step 5
Once the shrimp and onions have started to cook, add the spinach. Since the dish hasn’t been seasoned yet, add 2 pinches of salt and 2 pinches of black pepper at this stage. Stir continuously, ensuring the spinach wilts evenly. As the spinach cooks down, it will impart a delicious flavor to the dish.
Step 6
Now, add the pre-cooked pasta to the pan. Pour in 1 cup of the store-bought cream pasta sauce. Since we’ve added pasta, add another 2 pinches of salt to adjust the seasoning. Stir everything together thoroughly with chopsticks or tongs, ensuring the ingredients are well combined with the sauce. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat the pasta nicely. This step is crucial for the sauce to properly adhere to the pasta.
Step 7
Serve generously in a bowl, and your delicious Spinach Shrimp Cream Pasta, rich with fresh spinach and plump shrimp, is ready! The combination of fresh spinach, creamy sauce, and succulent shrimp will bring pure delight to your palate. Enjoying a spoonful filled with pasta, vegetables, and shrimp offers a delightful mix of textures and a harmonious blend of flavors. This Spinach Shrimp Cream Pasta is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients, making it a perfect and satisfying meal!
