Prepare the Deodeok: Wash the Deodeok thoroughly and peel off the outer skin. Gently pound the prepared Deodeok with the back of a knife or a mallet to tenderize the fibers. This helps the seasoning penetrate better and improves the texture. Be careful not to pound too hard, as it may cause the Deodeok to break apart.

Make and Mix the Grilled Deodeok Seasoning: In a bowl, combine 5 Tbsp Gochujang, 3 Tbsp Oligodang, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 2 Tbsp Maesilcheong, a pinch of sesame oil, and a pinch of sesame seeds. Mix well to create the seasoning paste. Add the prepared Deodeok to the bowl and gently toss with your hands to coat evenly with the sauce. This will give the Deodeok a beautiful color.

Grill the Deodeok: Line a frying pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking oil. Arrange the seasoned Deodeok attractively in the pan. Grill over medium-low heat, turning occasionally, until golden brown and slightly caramelized. Watch carefully to prevent burning. As it cooks, the unique aromatic fragrance of Deodeok will be released.
