Ingredients (Makes 4)

  • 4 Baguette bread pieces
  • 60-70g White chocolate
  • 5-10g Dark chocolate

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, gather your ingredients. You’ll need 4 baguette pieces, 60-70g of white chocolate, and 5-10g of dark chocolate for decoration.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, let’s melt the white chocolate. Prepare a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a saucepan with a small amount of simmering water. Add the white chocolate to the bowl and stir gently until it’s completely smooth and melted. Be careful not to overheat or scorch the chocolate.

Step 2

Step 3

Dip about two-thirds of each baguette piece into the melted white chocolate, coating it evenly. You can adjust the amount of chocolate to your preference. Tip: For an extra crispy baguette Pepero, lightly toast the baguette slices before dipping them in chocolate.

Step 3

Step 4

Allow the chocolate-coated baguettes to set. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and refrigerate or place them in a cool area until the chocolate is firm. Ensure they are on a flat surface to prevent the chocolate from dripping as it hardens.

Step 4

Step 5

Prepare the dark chocolate for decoration. Add the dark chocolate to any remaining white chocolate (or melt separately if preferred) and gently melt it using the double boiler method. You can mix it with the white chocolate for a marbled effect or use it as is.

Step 5

Step 6

Get ready to decorate! Make a piping bag by rolling parchment paper into a cone shape, or use a store-bought piping bag. Fill it with the melted dark chocolate (or your desired melted chocolate mixture). If using parchment paper, let the chocolate cool slightly before filling to avoid making the paper soggy.

Step 6

Step 7

Once the baguettes are fully set, use the piping bag to drizzle lines, dots, or create any design you like onto the white chocolate coating. After decorating, return the baguette Pepero to a cool place to allow the decorative chocolate to harden completely. Your delicious homemade baguette Pepero is now ready!
