Main Ingredients- Young Chickens 500g each, 2 birds (cleaned)
- Whole Garlic Cloves 2 cups (approx. 200g)
- Green Onion 1 stalk (cut into large pieces)
- Generous amount of Water (enough to cover the chickens, approx. 2.5L-3L)
- Salt 1 Tbsp (for seasoning)
- Black Pepper (optional, to taste)
- Black Sesame Seeds, a pinch (for garnish)
- White Sesame Seeds, a pinch (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Chicken: First, trim any excess fat from the tail end of the young chickens. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water. It’s also a good idea to clean out any internal giblets or residual parts from the cavity. (For detailed chicken preparation, please refer to the video: https://youtu.be/YksN02AZvTM)
Step 2
Add Garlic and Green Onion, Start Boiling: Place the 2 cleaned chickens into a large pot. Add the 2 cups of whole garlic cloves and the large pieces of green onion. Pour in enough water to generously cover the chickens (approximately 2.5L to 3L). Bring the pot to a boil over high heat.
Step 3
Simmer and Finish: Once the water reaches a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 40 minutes to 1 hour, or until the chicken is tender and the broth becomes milky white. You can check if the chicken is fully cooked by piercing it with a chopstick or fork. (For more detailed cooking instructions and tips, please refer to the video: https://youtu.be/YksN02AZvTM) After simmering, season the soup with 1 tablespoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper to taste. Garnish with a sprinkle of black and white sesame seeds for a visually appealing finish.
