  • 55g Cabbage (about 1/4 small head)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 10g All-purpose flour (approx. 1.5 Tbsp)
  • 40g Onion (about 1/4 small onion)
  • 40g Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

First, prepare 55g of cabbage. Shred it as thinly as possible. Using a mandoline slicer or a peeler can help achieve very fine, uniform strands. If you prefer a bit more texture, you can cut the cabbage slightly thicker.

Thinly slice 40g of onion and add it to a bowl. Crack in 2 eggs, add 0.25 tsp of salt, a pinch of black pepper, and 1 pinch of Dashida (or your preferred flavor enhancer) for an extra savory kick.

Add 10g of all-purpose flour (about 1.5 Tbsp) to help bind the ingredients. If you’d like to add more flavor and texture, feel free to mix in some chopped shrimp or squid – it makes for a delicious variation!

Whisk all the ingredients together thoroughly until well combined. Ensure the cabbage and onion are evenly distributed within the batter for the best texture.

Grease the inner pot of your rice cooker generously with 2 Tbsp of cooking oil. This step is crucial to prevent the pancake from sticking and helps achieve a crispier finish.

Pour the prepared batter into the greased rice cooker pot. Use a spatula to spread it evenly and thinly across the bottom. Select the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Bake’ function (if available) on your rice cooker and cook for 9 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

After the initial 9 minutes of cooking, sprinkle 40g of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Then, select the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Bake’ function again and cook for another 9 minutes. The cheese will melt beautifully, adding a delightful cheesy flavor.

Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, you can serve it directly from the rice cooker pot. Sprinkle with parsley flakes or dried chives for a touch of color and freshness. It looks great served family-style.
