- 10 cocktail shrimp
- 1 strip bacon
- 1 Tbsp canned corn
- 1/5 onion
- A few black olives
- A few pickled jalapeños (optional)
- Generous amount of pizza cheese
- A pinch of parsley flakes (for garnish)

Shrimp Seasoning Ingredients- Olive oil, as needed
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (or mirin/sake)
- Pinch of herb salt
- Olive oil, as needed
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (or mirin/sake)
- Pinch of herb salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start by preparing the pizza dough. In a stainless steel bowl, pour 100-110ml of warm water and dissolve the yeast included in the Hotteok mix.
Step 2
The water temperature should be around 40-45°C (104-113°F), warm to the touch but not hot. You can test this by dipping your finger in.
Step 3
Using a wooden spoon or spatula, stir the yeast well into the water. Then, add the entire packet of Hotteok mix powder.
Step 4
With the wooden spoon, mix the ingredients until they just come together into a rough dough. It will be quite sticky at this stage.
Step 5
Once the dough starts to form a mass, knead it with your hands for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Proper kneading is key for a good texture.
Step 6
To prevent the dough surface from drying out, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp cloth and let it rest at room temperature for a while (about 20-30 minutes) to proof.
Step 7
Thaw the cocktail shrimp if frozen. Rinse them lightly under running water and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels.
Step 8
Heat about 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the prepared shrimp and cook. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of cooking wine and herb salt evenly over the shrimp.
Step 9
Sauté the shrimp, flipping them over, until they turn a vibrant pink color. (If you like a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes here.)
Step 10
Peel the onion and slice it thinly into strips. Slicing them not too thinly will add a nice texture to the pizza.
Step 11
To remove excess grease and impurities, pour some hot water over the strip of bacon. Then, cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm long).
Step 12
Check on the dough while you’re preparing the toppings. If the room temperature is warm, the dough might have risen significantly, possibly doubling in size.
Step 13
Punch down the risen dough with your fist to release the accumulated gas. (For a 22cm pizza pan, you’ll use about 2/3 of the dough. The remaining dough can be used for other purposes like making small bread rolls.)
Step 14
Lightly dust a cutting board or your work surface with flour. Place the dough onto the floured surface.
Step 15
Lightly dust the top of the dough and your rolling pin with flour. Roll out the dough into a circle about the size of your 22cm pizza pan, aiming for an even thickness.
Step 16
Roll the dough in different directions (horizontally, vertically, diagonally) to form a round shape. Don’t worry too much about perfect circles; oval or square shapes are also fine as long as the thickness is consistent.
Step 17
Ensure the dough is rolled to a uniform thickness all around. This helps in even baking.
Step 18
Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto your 22cm round pizza pan.
Step 19
Using a fork, prick the dough all over, except for the outer edge (the crust area). This prevents the base from puffing up too much during baking.
Step 20
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough using a spoon, covering the surface up to the edges.
Step 21
Sprinkle a generous layer of pizza cheese over the tomato sauce. This layer will help bind the toppings to the base.
Step 22
Arrange the thinly sliced onions evenly over the cheese.
Step 23
Distribute the cooked shrimp, bacon pieces, black olives, pickled jalapeños, and corn kernels evenly over the pizza.
Step 24
Finally, sprinkle another generous layer of pizza cheese over the toppings. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 17 minutes. (Baking time may vary depending on your oven. If using an air fryer, bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12-15 minutes.)
Step 25
Once the cheese is melted and golden brown, and the crust is nicely baked, your delicious pizza is ready!
Step 26
Carefully remove it from the oven, slice it into portions, and enjoy your wonderful homemade pizza!^^
