  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack of store-bought Roll Inari Sushi kit (includes fried tofu pouches, sushi rice seasoning, dried vegetables, etc.)
  • 1 handful of fresh arugula

Rice with Nori (Seaweed)

  • 1.5 cups short-grain rice (70% polished or regular)
  • 1 handful of kamut (optional, adds a subtle nutty flavor)
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 2 sheets of nori (seaweed), finely crumbled or cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Cook the rice with a touch of nori. Rinse the rice and kamut (if using) thoroughly, then place them in your rice cooker with 1.5 cups of water. Cook according to your rice cooker’s instructions.

Step 1

Step 2

Transfer the freshly cooked, warm rice to a large bowl. While the rice is still hot, add the crumbled nori, the dried vegetable mix from the kit, and the sushi vinegar seasoning. Gently mix with a rice paddle, being careful not to mash the rice grains, ensuring everything is evenly combined.

Step 2

Step 3

Carefully unfold each fried tofu pouch from the roll inari kit. Place a piece of cut nori (or crumbled nori) onto the inner surface of each tofu pouch. The nori will help the rice adhere and add an extra layer of flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Spoon a moderate amount of the seasoned sushi rice onto the prepared tofu pouch. Avoid overfilling, as this can cause the tofu to tear. Arrange a few fresh arugula leaves next to the rice. The slightly peppery flavor of arugula complements the sushi rice beautifully.

Step 4

Step 5

Gently roll up the tofu pouch with the rice and nori. Roll it firmly but carefully to prevent it from unfolding. You can serve them as long rolls or cut them in half diagonally for a more convenient and visually appealing presentation.

Step 5

Step 6

Arrange the finished Arugula Roll Inari Sushi attractively on a serving plate. Serve with the accompanying sauce from the kit or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy this delightful and easy-to-make treat!
