Recipe Info

  • Category : Bread
  • Ingredient Category : Processed foods
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds until fully liquid. Let it cool slightly so it’s not too hot, then generously spread it evenly on both sides of the bread slices. Applying enough butter will help it soak into the bread well.

Step 1

Step 2

Cut the buttered bread slices into bite-sized square pieces. You can use a knife or scissors. Cutting them into small, cute shapes will be especially appealing to children. Arrange the cut bread pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap.

Step 2

Step 3

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Place the prepared bread pieces in the basket and bake for about 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the bread, so keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Step 3

Step 4

While the toasted bread is still warm, transfer all the pieces into a clean disposable plastic bag or a zip-top bag. Sprinkle generously with sugar according to your preference. If you like it sweeter, add more sugar; if you prefer a less sweet taste, reduce the amount or omit it.

Step 4

Step 5

Seal the bag tightly and then twist and shake it enthusiastically! It’s important to ensure the sugar is evenly coated on all the bread pieces. Once the sugar is well mixed, spread out the bag and let the rusks cool completely. They will be even crispier and more delicious once fully cooled. Enjoy your tasty treat!
