Rich & Nutty Homemade Black Sesame Latte Recipe
Must-Try Home Cafe Treat: Making a Deep & Nutty Black Sesame Latte
Black sesame lattes have been incredibly popular at cafes this year! I decided to recreate this delightful drink at home using black sesame seeds. This recipe will guide you through making a rich, nutty, and satisfying black sesame latte in your own kitchen.
Ingredients- 4 Tbsp high-quality black sesame powder or finely ground black sesame seeds
- 2 shots strong espresso or black coffee (approx. 60ml)
- 200ml fresh milk
- 100ml cold heavy cream
- A little syrup of your choice (e.g., condensed milk, honey, simple syrup)
- Ice cubes
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by choosing a nice glass and filling it generously with ice cubes to ensure your latte is refreshingly cold. The more ice, the cooler and longer-lasting your drink will be.
Step 2
Slowly pour the 200ml of milk over the ice. The milk will fill about half to two-thirds of the glass.
Step 3
Carefully pour the 2 shots of strong espresso or black coffee over the milk. This layer adds a delightful contrast and depth of flavor.
Step 4
In a separate small bowl, combine the 4 Tbsp of black sesame powder (or ground black sesame seeds) with the 100ml of cold heavy cream and your chosen syrup. Whisk or stir vigorously with a fork until smooth and well combined, ensuring there are no lumps. This creates a rich black sesame paste. Gently pour this mixture over the coffee and milk layers in your glass. The nutty aroma and creamy texture of the black sesame will blend beautifully, creating a deeply flavorful latte. You can let the layers sit for a moment before enjoying, or gently stir to combine everything for a uniform taste.
