Main Ingredients- 500g well-fermented mustard greens (Gat Kimchi)
- 1-2 Cheongyang chili peppers (optional, for added spiciness)
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2-3 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp sugar (adjust based on the tanginess of the mustard greens)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2-3 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp sugar (adjust based on the tanginess of the mustard greens)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the well-fermented mustard greens thoroughly under running water. Since mustard greens can have a strong, zesty flavor, rinse them multiple times to prepare.
Step 2
After rinsing to remove as much of the chili paste seasoning as possible, squeeze out the excess water from the mustard greens by hand. If there’s too much water, the stir-fry might become mushy.
Step 3
Place the rinsed and squeezed mustard greens into a heated pan. Add the minced garlic, sugar, and olive oil. You can use regular cooking oil instead of olive oil if preferred.
Step 4
Stir-fry the ingredients in the pan to combine them well. At this stage, you can add finely chopped Cheongyang chili peppers for a spicier kick. If you don’t prefer spicy food, omit the chili peppers or adjust the amount. Adding finely chopped green onions can also enhance the flavor.
Step 5
Stir-fry on high heat for about 5-6 minutes, allowing the seasonings to coat the mustard greens evenly and for them to wilt slightly. Once the greens are tender and the flavors have melded, turn off the heat. Finish by drizzling in the sesame oil and sprinkling toasted sesame seeds, mixing well. Your delicious stir-fried mustard greens are now ready!
