  • Green Bell Pepper 1/4 (finely chopped)
  • Red Bell Pepper 1/4 (finely chopped)
  • Green Onion 1/2 (white part mainly, finely chopped)
  • Green Chili Pepper 2 (adjust to spice preference, finely chopped)

Begin by thoroughly washing the fresh Napa cabbage under running water. Remove any dirty outer leaves. Cut the cabbage in half lengthwise to make it easier to handle and steam. This preparation ensures even cooking.

Arrange the prepared cabbage halves in a steamer basket. Steam over boiling water until the cabbage is tender but still retains a slight crispness. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the cabbage leaves. Be careful not to overcook, as it can become mushy.

Prepare the colorful bell peppers (green and red), green onion, and green chili peppers (if using for a spicy kick). Wash all vegetables thoroughly. Finely mince all the prepared vegetables. It’s best to remove the seeds from the bell peppers and chilies for a cleaner taste and texture.
