Easy Homemade Korean Beef Sirloin Cube Steak Recipe
Today, I made a special cube steak using premium Korean beef sirloin from ‘Uri Beef’, where you can enjoy fresh, high-quality beef at an affordable price. I’ll share a detailed recipe for cube steak that’s lightly seared on the outside and incredibly moist and tender on the inside, melting in your mouth with a rich flavor. Adding plenty of vegetables makes it even healthier and more delicious!
Cube Steak Ingredients- Korean Beef Sirloin 400g
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Onion
- 1/2 Bell Pepper (using various colors is recommended for visual appeal)
- 2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- Pinch of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently press the Korean beef sirloin with paper towels to remove any excess blood. Removing blood thoroughly ensures a clean taste without any gamey odor.
Step 2
Cut the sirloin into bite-sized cubes, approximately 2-3 cm. Cutting the meat too small can cause it to lose moisture during cooking. Now, prepare the vegetables that will enrich the flavor of your cube steak. You can use whatever vegetables you have on hand, but adding colorful bell peppers will create a much more visually appealing cube steak. Chop or dice the onion.
Step 3
Alright, let’s start making the cube steak! Heat a pan over medium heat and add a very small amount of olive oil or cooking oil. Add the cubed sirloin and sear it until the surface is golden brown. To preserve the juices, avoid stirring the meat too frequently while it cooks.
Step 4
Once the pinkness on the surface of the beef has mostly disappeared, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and stir-fry it with the beef. The garlic will infuse its aroma into the meat, deepening the flavor. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds, just enough to release the aroma, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 5
When the beef and garlic are well-cooked, add all the prepared vegetables (onion, bell pepper, etc.) to the pan. It’s important to stir-fry quickly over high heat, just until the vegetables are slightly wilted. If you overcook the vegetables, they will release water and lose their crispness, so stir-fry them rapidly for about 1 minute.
Step 6
Once the vegetables are slightly softened, add 2 tablespoons of ketchup and 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce. Stir well to ensure the sauce is evenly distributed over the meat and vegetables. The sweet and tangy ketchup combined with the savory oyster sauce will create a wonderful steak sauce.
Step 7
Finally, season with a pinch of black pepper to your liking. Cube steak can become tough if overcooked, so the key is to cook everything quickly over high heat to maintain its juicy tenderness. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
