Easy Recipe for Delicious Dongbu Bean Jelly Salad
Introducing a Dongbu bean jelly salad recipe that’s so mild and soft, even children love it! Made with simple seasonings that enhance the jelly’s natural nutty flavor, it’s easy for anyone to make and makes a wonderful side dish or snack.
Main Ingredients- 400g Dongbu bean jelly
- 7 Tbsp seasoned seaweed flakes (gim)
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- Sesame seeds, to taste
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- Sesame seeds, to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 400g of Dongbu bean jelly. Using pre-packaged jelly makes this recipe very convenient.
Step 2
Cut the Dongbu bean jelly into bite-sized pieces. Cutting it into long strips about 1.5cm thick offers a pleasant texture. If serving to young children, you might want to cut them a bit smaller.
Step 3
Fill a pot with enough water to cover the jelly and bring it to a boil over high heat. Blanching the jelly will make it softer and remove any faint odors.
Step 4
Once the water is boiling, add the cut bean jelly. Blanch for about 1-2 minutes, or until the jelly becomes slightly translucent. Be careful not to overcook, as it might break apart.
Step 5
Remove the blanched jelly from the pot and immediately rinse it under cold running water to cool it down. Rinsing in cold water helps maintain the jelly’s firm texture and prevents it from sticking together. After rinsing, drain the jelly thoroughly in a colander.
Step 6
In a bowl with the drained jelly, add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and 7 Tbsp of seasoned seaweed flakes. Gently toss to combine. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds to enhance the nutty aroma. This completes your delicious Dongbu bean jelly salad! If you feel it needs a little more flavor, you can add a tiny pinch of salt or a drop of soy sauce, but usually, the seaweed flakes and sesame oil are sufficient.
