Hearty Vegan Bean Meat Tortilla Rolls

  • 1 Tortilla
  • Mustard sauce, to taste
  • Honey, to taste
  • 1/4 Cucumber, julienned
  • 1/4 Bell pepper, julienned
  • A handful of radish sprouts
  • 50g Vegan bean meat mix (or cooked bean meat)

Sweet Tortilla Hotteok Pizza

  • 1 Tortilla
  • 1-2 Tbsp Corn syrup (or oligosaccharide)
  • 1 Tbsp Sliced almonds
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder (optional)
  • 30g Mozzarella pizza cheese (vegan cheese can be used)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s make the hearty vegan bean meat tortilla rolls. Heat a dry pan over medium-low heat, then lightly toast one side of the tortilla, and then the other. Be careful not to overcook, or it might tear. Next, without adding any oil to the pan, add the vegan bean meat mix (or pre-cooked bean meat) and cook until golden brown. Toasting it until crispy will make it even more delicious.

Step 2

Spread your desired amount of mustard sauce and honey evenly over the well-toasted tortilla. Then, arrange the cooked bean meat and prepared vegetables (julienned cucumber, bell pepper, and radish sprouts) attractively on top. Layering the ingredients generously over the sauce will help the roll hold its shape without bursting.

Step 3

Starting from one edge, roll the tortilla tightly to prevent the fillings from spilling out. Wrap it securely with parchment paper or plastic wrap to maintain its shape, then slice it cleanly in half to create your hearty vegan bean meat tortilla rolls. Enjoy!

Step 4

Now, let’s make the sweet tortilla hotteok pizza that even kids will love! Similarly, heat a dry pan over medium-low heat and lightly toast one side of the tortilla, then the other. Spread corn syrup (or oligosaccharide) evenly over the toasted tortilla. You can use honey, but corn syrup adds that authentic hotteok flavor.

Step 5

Sprinkle the tortilla generously with nutty sliced almonds and mozzarella pizza cheese. If you like an extra sweet aroma, dust it with a pinch of cinnamon powder. You can omit the cinnamon if you or your children prefer not to have it.

Step 6

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tortilla edges are golden brown. Adjust the baking time according to your oven’s specifications. Once removed from the oven, cut into bite-sized pieces and enjoy while warm.
