This recipe focuses on creating a hearty and nutritious Beef Seaweed Soup that’s perfect for any meal. 😋

Recipe Info

  • Category : Soup / Broth
  • Ingredient Category : Beef
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Boil / Simmer
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 100g Beef (recommended for soup), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 handfuls Dried Seaweed (soaked in water and rinsed)
  • 1/2 Potato (optional, sliced thinly into rounds)

Seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (Guk-ganjang or regular)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

It’s much easier to follow along by watching the attached video! (Refer to the video for detailed steps!)

Step 2

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until it’s lightly browned on all sides. Sautéing the beef first builds a rich foundation for the soup’s flavor.

Step 3

2. Once the beef is partially cooked, add the soaked and rinsed dried seaweed to the pot. Continue to stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes, allowing the seaweed to coat with the oil and beef drippings. This step really deepens the soup’s savory taste.

Step 4

3. Pour in 700ml of water and bring it to a boil. Stir in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. (If using potato, add it now.) Once the soup boils, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the seaweed and potato (if used) are tender.

Step 5

4. Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning with salt as needed (start with about 1/2 tablespoon of salt and add more if necessary). Once everything is tender and the flavors have melded beautifully, your delicious Beef and Seaweed Soup is ready! Serve hot with a bowl of rice. Enjoy! 😊
