Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to make delicious baked eggs, a nostalgic snack often made in rice cookers or bought at stores, using an air fryer. My baked eggs might not have the deep, dark brown color from cooking a little longer, but the chewy texture and taste are just the same! Shall we get started?

Step 1

Step 2

The most crucial tip for making perfect baked eggs: remove the chill from the eggs! Using cold eggs straight from the refrigerator can lead to them cracking during cooking or unevenly cooked results. Take the eggs out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to warm up. If you’re in a hurry, you can speed this up by soaking the eggs in warm water for about 5 minutes to take the chill off, making them lukewarm before you begin. This significantly reduces the chance of them cracking.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, carefully place the eggs that have reached room temperature into the air fryer basket. It’s a good idea to leave a little space between them so they don’t bump into each other during cooking.

Step 3

Step 4

Set your air fryer’s temperature and time. I’ll be cooking them at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes. Please note that this time might vary slightly depending on your specific air fryer model and the size of the eggs. It’s often best to start with a slightly shorter time and check the doneness, adjusting as needed.

Step 4

Step 5

Voila! After 10 minutes, your delicious baked eggs are ready. However, they are very hot, so please, never handle them with bare hands! Make sure to use tongs to carefully remove them from the air fryer.

Step 5

Step 6

Ta-da! You’ve made perfectly cooked, hard-boiled baked eggs. They have a slightly firm exterior while remaining moist and tender inside – not dry or chalky at all. Now you can easily enjoy the delicious taste of baked eggs, just like the ones you get at the jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouse), right in your own home. Enjoy your treat!
