Cooking Instructions
Step 1
The Pulmuone Thin-Crust Full Dumplings we’re using today come in two flavors. One is the ‘Original Pork Dumpling,’ filled with a flavorful mix of pork, onion, and chives. The other is the ‘Spicy Seafood Dumpling,’ offering a kick with seafood and pork. A key feature is their lack of crispy edges, ensuring every bite is delicious right to the end.
Step 2
First, let’s make pan-fried dumplings to enjoy their crispy texture! Take a closer look, and you’ll notice the dumplings really have no crispy edges. Even when frozen, the thin and almost translucent dumpling wrappers are incredibly impressive.
Step 3
Place a wide, flat frying pan on your stovetop or induction burner. Set the heat to medium-low. Once the pan is slightly warm, add a thin layer of cooking oil, ensuring it coats the entire surface. Be careful not to let it burn.
Step 4
Arrange the prepared dumplings in the frying pan. It’s best to leave some space between them so they don’t stick together.
Step 5
Over medium-low heat, flip the dumplings occasionally and pan-fry for about 7-8 minutes until they turn a beautiful golden brown. Cook them until the wrappers are crisp and lightly browned.
Step 6
Listen to that sizzle! Can you hear the delicious sound of dumplings frying? It’s enough to make your mouth water!
Step 7
Voilà! Crispy and delicious pan-fried dumplings are ready. They are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
Step 8
Just as appealing as pan-fried dumplings are steamed ones! Let’s make those next. Place the Pulmuone Thin-Crust Full Dumplings in a steamer basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Avoid letting them stick to the bottom of the steamer.
Step 9
Cover the steamer with a lid. Once the water in the pot below starts boiling and steaming, begin steaming the dumplings. Steaming over medium heat rather than high heat prevents the wrappers from bursting and ensures they cook gently.
Step 10
Steam the dumplings for approximately 7 minutes. You can adjust the time based on the size of the dumplings and the quantity in the steamer. Steam until the wrappers look translucent and the filling is cooked through.
Step 11
Wow! Moist and tender steamed dumplings are also ready in no time! The visible, abundant filling peeking through the thin wrappers looks absolutely delicious.
Step 12
Now, we’ll use these wonderful dumplings to create ‘Mandu Rosé Pizza’ and ‘Mandu Gratin.’ The following amounts are sufficient for both dishes.
Step 13
Let’s prepare the vegetables for the pizza and gratin. You’ll need 1 red bell pepper, 1 green bell pepper, 1 medium potato, and 1/2 medium onion. Wash them thoroughly under cold running water.
Step 14
Chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and slice them decoratively, like flower petals. Wash the potato with its skin on and cut it into 6 wedges, similar to potato wedges. Slice the onion thinly. Cut the cheddar cheese slices into bite-sized squares. Lastly, cut the 2 strips of bacon into large pieces.
Step 15
Let’s start with the Mandu Rosé Pizza. Place 3 dumplings of each flavor into your air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes. (Tip: Parchment paper can sometimes stick to the dumplings in the air fryer, so it’s recommended to cook them directly on the basket.)
Step 16
After 10 minutes, the dumplings are perfectly golden brown. They’re slightly crispy on the outside and warm throughout.
Step 17
We’ll also be cooking the potatoes for the Mandu Rosé Pizza. Place the sliced potatoes in the air fryer and cook at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes. It’s good to cook them until the skin is tender.
Step 18
After 15 minutes, flip the potatoes and cook for another 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F). This double-baking method ensures the potatoes are tender inside and crispy outside.
Step 19
Now, prepare the frying pan for the pizza. Place a flat, round frying pan over medium-low heat. Spread a generous amount of rosé sauce evenly across the bottom of the pan. If there’s too little sauce, the pizza might turn out dry.
Step 20
Arrange the pan-fried dumplings, alternating the two flavors, over the rosé sauce. The dumplings will serve as the pizza crust’s edge.
Step 21
Fill the spaces between the dumplings with the air-fried potato wedges. The colorful combination is already making it look appetizing!
Step 22
Evenly spread the thinly sliced onion over the dumplings and potatoes. The sweetness of the onion will complement the rosé sauce, enhancing the overall flavor.
Step 23
Artfully arrange the red bell pepper and green bell pepper slices, cut into flower shapes, alternating them. The vibrant colors of the vegetables will make the pizza even more appealing.
Step 24
Now for the star of the pizza: a generous topping of mozzarella cheese! As it melts, it will envelop the dumplings and vegetables in a creamy layer.
Step 25
Finally, top the pizza with the large-cut bacon pieces and the square-cut cheddar cheese slices for the perfect finishing touch.
Step 26
Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes. Allow the mozzarella cheese to melt completely and all the ingredients to meld together. (Tip: If the heat is too high, the sauce might burn, so adjust to low heat as needed.)
Step 27
After 20 minutes, lift the lid to reveal your beautifully finished Mandu Rosé Pizza! The vibrant colors and abundant toppings are truly a feast for the eyes!
Step 28
Now, let’s make the hearty side dish for the Mandu Rosé Pizza: ‘Mandu Gratin.’ Place 2 dumplings of each flavor onto a serving dish. Lightly sprinkle water over the dumplings to keep them moist.
Step 29
Cover the dumplings with plastic wrap, then poke several holes in the wrap with a fork. This helps the dumplings cook evenly and stay moist in the microwave without drying out.
Step 30
Place the 4 dumplings in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes. This will heat them through thoroughly.
Step 31
Wow! In just 3 minutes, the frozen dumplings are now warm and tender. Now, it’s time to make the delicious gratin. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 32
Spread a generous layer of rosé sauce at the bottom of an oven-safe dish suitable for gratin. Arrange the microwaved dumplings on top of the sauce.
Step 33
Add another generous spoonful of rosé sauce over the dumplings. Ensure the sauce evenly coats the dumplings, almost like a sauce for pasta.
Step 34
Finely chop the remaining bell pepper and green pepper from the pizza preparation and sprinkle them over the gratin. These will add color and texture.
Step 35
Top generously with mozzarella cheese, and scatter some whole black olives. The savory olives will enhance the overall flavor of the gratin.
Step 36
Place the dish in the preheated oven (180°C/350°F) and bake for about 20 minutes. You can also use just the top broiler for about 20 minutes to get a nice golden brown cheese topping. (Tip: Since the dumplings are already cooked, adjust the baking time to ensure the cheese and sauce are well-melted and bubbly.)
Step 37
Ta-da! The perfect side dish for your Mandu Rosé Pizza, the Mandu Gratin, is complete. Look at that delicious, stretchy cheese – it’s incredibly appetizing!
Step 38
With just one pack of Pulmuone Thin-Crust Full Dumplings, you can make pan-fried dumplings, steamed dumplings, Mandu Rosé Pizza, and Mandu Gratin! This creates a diverse and satisfying Western-style meal. It’s perfect for a special dinner.
Step 39
Fresh from the oven, this piping hot Mandu Gratin! See that wonderfully stretchy cheese? Combined with the dumplings, every bite is incredibly delicious. Experience the rich flavors filling your palate.
Step 40
The original pork dumplings, pan-fried to a golden crisp, live up to their name with incredibly thin wrappers and a truly satisfying, packed filling. Each bite is wonderfully savory.
Step 41
The spicy seafood dumplings hit the perfect spicy note for my taste! With their thin wrappers and lack of crispy edges, the texture is even better. They maintain the same rich filling within a delicate wrapper, but by removing the hard flour edges, they’ve achieved both excellent taste and texture. This is truly a new evolution of dumplings!
