Main Ingredients

  • Black pork for bulgogi, 300g (Jeju black pork is highly recommended for freshness!)
  • 1 onion (medium size)
  • 2 slices of watermelon (approx. 1/8 of a small melon, adds flavor and sweetness)
  • 1 green onion
  • 1/2 bell pepper (use red or orange for vibrant color)
  • 1/2 pack enoki mushrooms

Special Marinade

  • 7 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (for shine and sweetness)
  • 2 Tbsp plum extract (tenderizes meat and adds a refreshing flavor)
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic (generous garlic for enhanced flavor!)
  • A pinch of black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil (for that aromatic finish)

Cooking Instructions

First, prepare the vegetables. Coarsely julienne the onion and cut the bell pepper into similar-sized pieces. Remove seeds from the watermelon and cut into chunks for easier blending. Slice the green onion diagonally and trim the base of the enoki mushrooms, then separate the strands.

Time to make the marinade! Place the roughly chopped watermelon into a blender and blend until smooth. In a bowl, combine the blended watermelon with soy sauce, oligosaccharide, plum extract, minced garlic, and black pepper. Mix well to create a delicious marinade. Finish with sesame oil for a fragrant aroma.

Now, let’s prepare to mix the ingredients. Place the julienned onion and bell pepper from step 1, along with the cleaned enoki mushrooms and green onions, into a large bowl.

Pour the prepared special marinade over the meat and vegetables. Wash your hands thoroughly, then gently mix everything together, ensuring the marinade coats every piece of ingredient. It’s important to mix thoroughly so the flavors meld beautifully.

Let the marinated ingredients rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to allow the flavors to penetrate fully. If you have more time, a longer marination will result in an even deeper flavor. Heat a frying pan and add all the marinated meat and vegetables. Cook over medium heat.
