Deliciously Moist & Sweet French Toast
♥ [Newlywed Table] Perfectly Moist & Sweet French Toast
Moist eggy bread! Perfect for brunch, entertaining guests, or as a delightful kids’ snack~ Super simple ingredients, super easy recipe.
Ingredients- 5 slices of bread (day-old bread works best)
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of sugar
- A little dried parsley (for garnish and flavor)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp powdered sugar (for garnish, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the slices of bread in half. This helps them absorb the egg mixture more evenly.
Step 2
Crack the 2 eggs into a bowl. Lightly whisk them together until the yolks and whites are well combined.
Step 3
Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar to the whisked eggs. Stir well. If you’d like to add more flavor, a little dried parsley can be added too. (Adjust the sugar amount to your preference.)
Step 4
Now, dip the bread slices into the prepared egg mixture. Make sure to soak them well so they can absorb the mixture thoroughly.
Step 5
Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture, turning them over to coat both sides. Depending on the thickness of the bread, let them soak for about 1-2 minutes until they are soft and the egg mixture has penetrated the center.
Step 6
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter or cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Place the egg-soaked bread slices into the pan. Cook until golden brown and slightly crispy on both sides, ensuring the inside remains moist. Your French toast is ready!
Step 7
For an extra crispy texture, after pan-frying, you can place the French toast in an air fryer set to 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes. This will give you perfectly crispy exteriors and moist interiors.
Step 8
Dust the finished French toast with powdered sugar for a beautiful garnish. Serving with apple jam or maple syrup will enhance the sweetness and make it even more delicious!
