Ingredients

  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 red chili (fresh or dried)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 80ml olive oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a clean, sterilized glass jar for your infused oil. Sterilizing by boiling or using a microwave will help preserve the oil longer. Ensure the jar is completely dry before proceeding.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently wash the fresh rosemary sprigs under running water and pat them dry. If the sprigs are too long, you can cut them into smaller pieces to fit comfortably in the jar. This will infuse the oil with rosemary’s lovely aroma.

Step 2

Step 3

Slice the red chili thinly on an angle. If using a fresh chili, it will add a mild heat and vibrant color. Dried chilies will impart a deeper, more concentrated flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Peel the garlic clove and slice it thinly into ‘coins’. The garlic’s pungent notes will complement the rosemary, creating a more complex flavor profile.

Step 4

Step 5

Measure out 80ml of high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Using a flavorful olive oil is key to a delicious final product.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the prepared rosemary sprigs to the sterilized and dried glass jar.

Step 6

Step 7

Next, add the sliced red chili to the jar. The chili adds a beautiful visual element, making the oil more appealing.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, add the sliced garlic and pour the olive oil over all the ingredients until they are fully submerged. Seal the jar tightly and let it infuse at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. Your flavorful rosemary oil will then be ready to use!
